Professional Background

Mr. Rea joined the firm in 1997. His responsibilities include the management and review of all financial audit engagements, ensuring our audits comply with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Generally Accepted Governmental Auditing Standards (GAGAS). Mr. Rea also serves as project manager in jurisdictional cost separations studies and special projects such as forecasts, business valuations, benchmarking studies and other management studies. Mr. Rea has directed and performed numerous financial audits, mostly involving rural telephone and cable companies. Working closely with key management personnel and other consultants, Mr. Rea has gained intricate knowledge of the operations of rural telephone companies required to perform those specialized audits. His expertise includes but is not limited to GAAP, GAAS, and GAGAS compliance, capital expenditure analyses, assessments of internal controls of accounting transaction cycles, and data analyses of outputs from computerized information systems.
